worship leading thoughts

  • Be completely and utterly, madly in love with God.
  • God has made you unique, don’t try and lead like someone else.
  • Find the song in you, find who God has made you and release that.
  • Find or write songs that you have had a personal encounter with and that moves you.
  • What you are conscious of, you will release in the atmosphere.
  • Honour and love the team you are leading with.
  • Focus on what God is doing and not what you think He is not doing.

So enjoyed our HPSM Worship Intensive today on living supernaturally and, I was reminded that in environments of momentum, God can teach us so much about Him as we remain teachable and open to learn more about Him than what we already know. As we walk with the Holy Spirit daily, we can live in an environment of momentum propelling us forward to God’s plan for our lives. We serve an awesome God.

what lens are you looking through

A few weeks ago, we were in Ballito on holiday and I accidentally left my glasses at home. I wear contact lenses but after the third day with no relief, my eyes were really sore. I fortunately got them couriered to me.

IMG_3698As I removed my lenses and put my glasses on, the Lord spoke to me about vision. I was once again struck by whatever lens I look through effects my vision.

I see through the worldview / culture I live in. I was at our HP Parktown Strategy session these last two days and, as Joey Bonifacio spoke about different cultures and structures, I started seeing things differently. As I started looking through a different lens, God was adjusting my vision both short distance and long distance.  The ability for God to invade our lives and change us is so necessary for us to be and do what He has called us to but we will only change to the degree we see things differently. Walt Disney saw things that were not visible. Faith works from what is unseen to the seen.  Hebrews 11:3 ‘What is seen was not made out of things which are visible’.

Had an awesome time in worship today at church. We got there at 7am and just spent time going through the songs, worshipping and spending time in free flow declaring God’s goodness, declaration what we were believing God for for the morning, singing our prayers, singing out our love for God. I was reminded once again that it truly is God’s love that draws us to His presence. That in His presence God reveals Himself in different ways and, if we will allow ourselves to just break through the walls of our own pre-conceived ideas, God has so much more for us than we could ever imagine. God is certainly never boring and, every time I am in presence, I am reminded of His magnificence, His character, His longing for us to be with Him.
